What is Credit? A Basic Definition
(Latin: he trusts) An entry on the right-hand side of an account; used for income and liabilities, namely debts owed by the business to other people. Also used to designate a payment into an account, especially a bank account. (From the bank's point of view, an increase in the amount of money a customer has in his account is an increase in the bank's debt to that customer.)
